Eric Greenley was a bit of an unexpected surprise for Dimond when he joined the team in the summer of 2015.
Eric graduated from Iowa State University, just north of Dimond HQ, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Although he considered a degree in vocal ed.
After graduating, Eric moved to Paso Robles for a job with Scientific Engineering International. There he had a pretty cush corporate job with lots of good weather and a handful of people around him who participated in the sport of triathlon. Eric thought it’d be a great idea to start training to meet new people. With the “Team K-Man” around him he was immediately hooked.
Eric’s first half was Wildflower in Paso Robles, where he met former Dimond Van Pilot Chris Blick and our current Marketing and Sales Director Brad Bach. In casual conversation, Eric discovered that Dimond was looking for an Engineer. Eventually, the stars aligned. The call of his home state and the chance to make a difference in the sport he’d grown to love beat out the impeccably perfect weather of central California. And we’re glad it did.
If you need Eric, you can find him in the Dimond Mine. And usually he’s covered in carbon dust. This guy is tirelessly devoted to detail and extremely dedicated to Dimond. If you’re lucky enough to run into him at the factory, or anywhere else for that matter, you’ll find that he’s incredibly polite and genuine.
And hard-working. Eric recently decided that his weekends are best spent at the Dimond Mine where there is always work to be done. He probably gets it from his personal hero, his mom, who has demonstrated what it means to have loads of responsibility and never gripe about it. Like Eric, she works long hours and manages to be relaxed and positive.
In what little spare time he has, Eric enjoys singing with the Des Moines Choral Society. If you happen to be in the area, don’t miss their concert on December 10! 🙂
If there’s one thing that fuels Eric’s endless work, it’s coffee. Iced coffee. French press coffee. Almond milk lattes. He’ll accept. Unless of course he is taking a caffeine hiatus. Which happens from time to time. Don’t ask why. And he has a strong affinity for Sponge Bob Square Pants, and he often replies with quotes from the cartoon that the rest of us can’t fully appreciate. Eric says that Sponge Bob also has great work ethic. “Have you seen how he gets out of bed in the morning, so excited to make Krabby Patties?”
Eric has great responsibility as our Quality Control Engineer. He works closely with Chief Engineer Matt Cymanski on new carbon layup schedules and test to ensure new products are up to snuff.
Eric is an invaluable asset to Dimond. Oh, and he’s a vegan. We can’t leave that out.
ps…he didn’t land it.
