SHIMANO
DURA ACE (RD-R9250)
The Shimano DURA ACE rear derailleur represents the pinnacle of Shimano's rear derailleur lineup. This is Shimano's lightest and fastest shifting rear derailleur weighing only 215g. It features all of Shimano's cutting edge technology and is powered by a battery mounted in the frame. A power cable is needed to power this unit.
ULTEGRA (RD-R8150)
The Shimano Ultegra Rear Derailleur benefits from technology that was developed for the Dura Ace lineup. This results in fast shifting with digital precision. This unit features all of Shimano's connectivity technology that the Dura Ace has, and provides the user with exceptional shifting performance. On average this weighs 262g, and requires a power wire.
105 (RD-R7150)
The Shimano 105 rear derailleur is Shimano's most inexpensive option for electronic shifting. 105 benefits from trickle down technology from the Dura Ace and Ultegra product line. This results in a very efficient package that does not stress the wallet. The 105 rear derailleur requires a power cable to attach to the battery in the frame, and weighs on average 302g.
SRAM
RED AXS
The SRAM RED AXS rear derailleur is SRAM's top of the line rear derailleur. The quick and precise shifting can be fine tuned by SRAM's AXS app making for easy adjustment and personalization. The SRAM RED rear derailleur features SRAM's Orbit chain technology to ensure a quiet and secure chain. This derailleur can be used in both 1x and 2x setups. and can house a 10-28T up to a 10-36T cassette. This unit features a removable battery that mounts on the back of the derailleur. All of SRAM's AXS equipped components use the same type of battery. If one battery isn't charged you can swap them on the fly! This unit weighs 299g with battery installed.
RED XPLR AXS
The SRAM RED XPLR AXS rear derailleur features the same robust body of the SRAM RED AXS derailleur but with a longer cage to accommodate a larger cassette. This derailleur is designed to be featured on a 1x setup and can be used on a 10-44T, or 10-36T cassette. This derailleur is not compatible with SRAM Eagle cassettes or chains, and weighs 313g with battery.
FORCE AXS
The SRAM FORCE AXS rear derailleur has benefited from the technology used in the SRAM RED AXS rear derailleur. The FORCE derailleur has all of the features from the RED rear derailleur, but with steel bearings instead of ceramic, and other slightly heavier materials to bring the cost down for the user. This rear derailleur can be used on cassettes ranging from 10-28T to 10-36T, can be used in both 1x and 2x setups, and weighs 326g with the battery.
FORCE XPLR AXS
The SRAM FORCE XPLR AXS rear derailleur has the same advanced body as the FORCE AXS derailleur but features the capabilities to house a 10-36T cassette up to a 10-44T cassette! This unit weighs 328g with battery installed, and can only be used with a 1x setup.
RIVAL AXS
The SRAM RIVAL AXS derailleur takes everything that makes the FORCE and RED derailleurs great, and provides it in a very economical package. With a slight weight increase you are saving hundreds of dollars. This rear derailleur can be used in 1x and 2x setups, and can house a 10-28T cassette up to a 10-36T cassette. With the battery installed it weighs 366g.
RIVAL XPLR AXS
The RIVAL XPLR AXS features the same body as the RIVAL AXS but with a larger cage to accommodate a 10-36T cassette up to a 10-44T cassette. The RIVAL XPLR AXS is only compatible with 1x systems. This bombproof rear derailleur weighs in at 350g with battery installed, and can take you anywhere!
APEX XPLR AXS
The APEX XPLR AXS provides access to electronic shifting at an affordable level. This derailleur is very similar to the RIVAL XPLR AXS but SRAM did some clever engineering to make it lighter and cheaper. Weighing in at 343g with battery installed this derailleur is a very good choice.
